An Odessa man was one of 111 people that had their sentences commuted by the President on Tuesday.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Samuel Latrell Johnson was sentenced to life in prison plus 10 years supervised release for the conviction of "conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of cocaine base" and "possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance" back in 2002.

His sentence commuted is scheduled to expire on December 28, 2016 according to the press release.
