Plant Power: Using Catnip, Daffodils, And More To Repel Squirrels
Growing a garden brings many people peace and fresh herbs, flowers, and vegetables. It takes time, hard work, patients and lots of love. After all that work one pesky group of squirrels can play havoc on your beautiful garden! What can you do to prevent an invasion of squirrels into your garden? Here's some help;
Plant catnip, that's right, catnip. Cats love it, but not squirrels, they detest the strong smell and will stay away. Also daffodils, they can add a pop of color in your backyard garden and will keep the squirrels away. They not only come in a variety of colors but are said to deter animals like deer, rabbits, and squirrels because of their odor and taste!
Another popular flower the geranium are a beautiful plant that can help repel squirrels. Plant them around your garden crops. You get to enjoy their bright beautiful floral petals and the squirrels will stay away due to the scent produced by their natural fragrant oils.
Even mint, it doubles as a squirrel repellent. It smells great to you and you can use it for all your favorite handcrafted cocktails and mocktails like Mint Juleps, Moscow Mules and mint tea. You love it squirrels despise it.
Squirrels do not like strong scents like mustard, lavender and rosemary. So plant them around your garden will keep the squirrels away. You can also just break of sprigs and insert them in the dirt around your prize plants.
