Permian Basin Mortality Rates Are Lower Than National Average

COVID-19 deaths in Midland and Odessa are lower than the national average.

According to NewsWest 9, even though cases have been increasing in Midland/Odessa, the national average of deaths is more.

Nationally the mortality rate is 3%. In Midland it is currently 2%, and Odessa is at 1.6%

But this low rate is not a reason to ease up on mask wearing and Social distancing practices.
