Odessa City Council Takes No Immediate Action on Mask Mandate
Odessa City Council has not decided on enforcing a mask mandate yet.
According to CBS 7, Odessa City Council discussed a mask mandate in their meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, but did not take immediate action on it.
With area hospitals overwhelmed with COVID-19 cases, Mayor David Turner says that if Odessa maintains more than a 15% hospitalization rate for a week the city council will have the authority to reduce business occupancy to 50%.
Several of the council members are ready for a mask mandate to help decrease the number of cases.
The subject will come up again at the next meeting.
