Odessa is planning to use the CARES act money to go toward protecting their first responders.

According to NewsWest 9, Tuesday August 4, 2020, city council members discussed using $315,000 of the money they have from the CARES act to purchase CPR devices and PPE uniforms for first responders.

Council members said they will vote on the equipment Tuesday, August 11, 2020 and if approved, first responders would start using the new equipment in the next month.
