Odessa City Council Approved New Ordinance to Allow Uber to Continue Service

Odessa city council approved a new ordinance that will allow the ride share company to continue service in Odessa.

According to NewsWest 9, the ordinance was passed by Odessa City Council to regulate the ride share service.

The only point of concern was who would be doing background checks. Uber conducts their own background checks using federal and national databases which was OK'ed by city council.

Mayor David Turner stated that the good outweighs the bad on having Uber in Odessa.
