The new Salvation Army facility is in its final stages of development and will be ready for opening in the spring.

According to NewsWest 9, the new location will be at Terrell and Wall Street and is planning a ribbon cutting on April 10, 2019.

The new facility will have dorms for shelter, bathrooms, a laundry room, and a kitchen that will have a capacity for over 80 people.

Captain Jeremy Walker says the facility will provide more support and will mean a larger workforce.

“We’re going to be able to, with this new facility, be able to employ more folks,” said Captain Walker. “Get more people some jobs and that’s another thing we look forward to, is being able to not only help people get back on their feet out in the community but help people get on their feet through us at the Salvation Army.”

The old Salvation Army location on Baird St. will still be open during the move.
