Murray’s Deli in Midland Under New Ownership
Murray's Deli has been a staple in Midland as one of the best delis in the city, and now the long lasting deli is under new ownership.
According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the new owners Betsy Wells, Neil Dufford, and Scott Dufford are assuring customers of the deli that it will have the same great food and service it has had since 1984 when the deli opened.
Betsy Wells said she had heard that Murray's Deli was closing, so she called the owner and asked if that was true and the owner said they would be open to selling.
“Immediately, I called my business partners Neil and Scott and asked would they be interested in doing this,” Wells said. “Because we’re not really restaurant people, or at least haven’t been, we decided to look at the numbers to see if it makes sense for us.”
The trio are business partners but they are also family, Scott is the father of Neil and Betsy and they have been oil and gas partners for the past six years.
Betsy is a petroleum engineer, Neil is a landman, and Scott is a geologist and former Midland City Councilman.
They have kept the menu the same but have added a few new items such as curly fries which Neil recommends.
“We are going through a new rebranding process, and in our new logo, we say, ‘Eat more curly fries,’” he said. “They really are the best thing.”
They will also be adding a wood-fired brick oven so they can provide pizza which should be available February 4, 2021.
You can order from Murray's Deli on most of the major food delivery apps such as DoorDash, Favor, Texas To Go, and Chownow.
