The second season of USA’s Mr. Robot didn’t quite reach the heights of its first, but Season 3 has reason to celebrate regardless. Our first photo sees Elliot surprisingly social at a hackers’ gathering, while new intel suggest Tyrell Wellick will be back full-time this year.

Entertainment Weekly shared a first official photo from the new season, which moves to fall from its usual summer perch. In it, Elliot is up and about again after being shot in the Season 2 finale, and it seems the hacking community is in fairly good spirits about the state of the world:

In addition to teasing that “Season 3 is about Elliot trying to bounce back and fight against the people who have been using him,” creator-director Sam Esmail also promised that the mysterious Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallström) wouldn’t stay sidelined in the same manner as Season 2:

With Tyrell, we really don’t know much about his whereabouts or what happened to him. There’s a lot of that circular storytelling that we really delve into with his character this season.

Elsewhere of Mr. Robot Season 3, we know Bobby Cannavale will play “a laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman,” while B.D. Wong has been promoted to series regular in his role as the mysterious “Whiterose.” Esmail will again direct all episodes, taking the extra time to steady the series creatively.

We’ll see what surprises Mr. Robot Season 3 has in store this summer, but what do we make of the first look?
