The Superintendent of MISD says that students returning to campus during the 2019-2020 school year would be a "long shot" at best.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, superintendent Orlando Riddick says he does not see students of MISD returning to campuses for the end of this school year even though Gov. Greg Abbott sees it as a possibility.

Riddick says the students are currently using Google Classroom which is working fine.

Students needing a Chromebook or a hot spot device for WiFi can contact their campus to have that provided for the students.

If the decision to go back to school campuses before the end of this year happens, Riddick says it will be after consulting with health officials and getting the go ahead from the Midland Health Department.
