Midland/Odessa Area in ‘Exceptional’ Drought For the First Time in 7 Years

After an unusually wet beginning to the year, we have had the worst drought since then.

According to NewsWest 9, Midland International Airport recorded 5.27" of rainfall from January through March of this year which is the wettest ever recorded for the first three months of the year.

But beginning in April, the airport has recorded just over an inch of rain, 1.57" to be exact, which is the driest we have been since 2013.

It is not looking like the drought is going to let up before the end of the year either.
