Midland Police Kick Off ‘Cop in a Shop’ Program After Rash of Convenience Store Robberies
The recent outbreak of robberies in the Midland/Odessa area has cause the Midland Police Department to start a new program called "Cop in a Shop."
According to NewsWest 9, the program will put under cover police in convenience stores all over Midland to help catch robbers before they can get away.
The under cover officers will be armed but be posing as employees of the stores.
Convenience chains who have signed up for the "Cop in a Shop" program will be Kent Kwik, Jack's, Stripes, and 7-Eleven.
