Midland Odessa? How Do We Really Feel About Paper Straws?

It happened without me knowing. I went to sip a drink out of my cup and I felt something weird. Yep, it was a paper straw. If you're not expecting a paper straw, it is the weirdest feeling. LOL Let's be real.  There have been 2 places I've been to recently where they offer paper straws. How do you feel about them?

I love me some Rosa's here in the Permian Basin. It's without a doubt one of my favorite places to eat. And, the SWEET TEA rocks. That's when and where I discovered they have paper straws. Is this recent? Is this permanent?

STARBUCKS RECENTLY GAVE ME A PAPER STRAW

The other day, went in on my Vanilla Bean Frappuccino and BAM there was the paper straw. Now, recently I sometimes get the paper straw from them and other times it was back to plastic.  I guess it depends on the store you go to.

4 BIG COMPLAINTS BOUT PAPER STRAWS

• THEY GET SOGGY. This seems to be the biggest complaint about paper straws. After being in your drink for a bit, they seem to get soggy.
• THEY TURN A WEIRD COLOR - After a while, the end of the straw turns almost a beige color.
• THEY FEEL WEIRD - Some do not like the feel of them in the mouth.
• THEY ARE NOT STURDY- They eventually get flimsy and fall apart!

REASONS WHY PEOPLE LIKE THEM

• Environmentally they are better than plastic straws.  They are a GREEN product.

if yall don't like them buy re-usable straws from amazon and carry them with you in the car or purse... personally i don't mind them, i don't have an issue with them

It's pretty dumb. Paper straws in styrofoam cups with plastic lids. Makes sense.

They’re gross! And they get soggy and you end up using multiple ones while in the restaurant so it’s kind of a waste!
