The CEO of Midland Health is crediting the improved numbers to mask wearing and social distancing.

According to NewsWest 9, Midland Memorial Hospital has seen improving numbers over the past few weeks as far as COVID-19 cases are concerned.

Over the July 4th weekend the hospital tested 625 people and 36% of them tested positive.

Now fast forward to the week of August 22, 2020 when 432 people were tested and just 12.5% came back positive.

"The only explanation for that is diligence in social distancing and increased mask-wearing," said Midland Health CEO Russel Meyers.

The hospital testing sites are still open and taking appointments for testing.
