The congressional seat that will soon be vacated by Mike Conaway has a local Midland City Councilman bidding for that seat.

According to NewsWest 9, J. Ross Lacy has just announced he will be running for the 11th Congressional District seat after the July announcement by Mike Conaway that he will not seek re-election.

Lacy is a conservative Republican who has served on the city council of Midland as well a being a small business owner.

He has worked as President of Lacy Oil Corp., Manager of Key Accounts for Cressman Tubular, and Managing Partner of Lacy Capital and CATI Well Service.
