Midland Centennial Library will be holding events and giving out the recommended glasses to view the solar eclipse safely.

According to YourBasin.comalthough people in Midland will not get to see a total eclipse, the sun will be about 70-80% covered which makes it more dangerous if you do not have the proper glasses for viewing.

That's why the Midland Centennial Library is holding some family events and passing out the proper safety glasses to view to eclipse.

For more information you can contact the library at 432-742-7400 or the Midland County Library website.
