Summer is here and the City of Midland has announced when they will open up city aquatic centers.

According to NewsWest 9, the city aquatic centers will be alternating days they will be open to follow COVID-19 guidelines.

Attendance will be at only 50% per the Open Texas Phase 3 orders.

June 10, 2020 will be the day that Doug Russell and Washington Family Aquatic Center will open up.

To accommodate as many people as possible and for facilities to be cleaned, entry passes for 3-hour sessions will be sold.

Passes will only be valid on the day issued and will be sold at the pool 30 minutes before opening time.

Private parties and reservations will not be allowed this year as well as no punch cards will be sold this season.

Pool furniture will be removed from the pool, and people visiting the pool are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

Here are the hours for Washington Aquatic Center:

  • Wednesday and Friday

Session A: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Cleaning: 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Session B: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

  • Sunday

Session A: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Cleaning: 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Session B: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

 

Here are the hours for Doug Russell Pool:

  • Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

Session A: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Cleaning: 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Session B: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
