The two Chipotle Restaurants in the Permian Basin have been hit by malware and the restaurant is telling customers to keep tabs on their accounts.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, Chipotle Mexican Grill in Midland and Odessa is urging patrons to monitor their bank or payment card accounts if you visited either location between March 24 and April 18.

The malware was designed to access payment card data from cards used at point of sale devices at both locations locally as well as locations across the country.

The malware searches for data on magnetic strips such as cardholder name, card number, expiration date and internal verification code.

The company is telling customers who might have paid with a card during the mentioned dates to review statements of cards they might have used and report any unauthorized charges to your bank or credit card company.

More information on stores affected and other details can be found on the Chipotle website.
