AAA reports that people in Midland are paying the highest gas prices in the state once again.

According to NewsWest 9, the average price of gas in Texas this week is $2.45 which is $.06 less than last week and $.32 less than this time last year.

Midland leads all the metropolitan areas surveyed at an average of $2.70 a gallon, McAllen is the cheapest at $2.25 a gallon.

The national average sits at $2.78 a gallon which is $.04 less than last week and $.16 less than this time last year.

Looks like the Rio Grande Valley in south Texas is the best place to plan a trip to get the cheapest gas on vacation in Texas.
