Medical Center Hospital Systems Waves Medical Bills of the Mass Shooting Victims
The victims of the mass shooting on August 31 have one less thing to worry about.
According to NewsWest 9, MCHS is waiving all fees not covered by insurance on the mass shooting victims that they served after the shooting.
"This was not their fault," said Medical Center Hospital Director of Communications Trevor Tankersley, "this was the most trying of circumstances and we felt it was in their best interest and our best interest just to take care of those bills. Whatever the insurance doesn't pay, we'll take care of."
MCHS said they are working on how fees will be covered but they will be taken directly from the hospital's budget and not from the victims' assistance fund since that fund will be used for follow-up visits and procedures.
