Mayor Morales and Keep Midland Beautiful Kick Off Anti-Litter Campaign – [Video]
You can't drive around the Midland/Odessa area with out seeing trash and plastic bags scattered everywhere, even hanging from the natural vegetation. Now, the City of Midland, Midland County and Keep Midland Beautiful have a way to combat the eyesore.
Tuesday, Mayor Jerry Morales announced the 'Not in my town' anti-litter campaign that focuses on increasing education, enforcement and community cleanups through commercials, billboards, signs, social media and the website www.litterfreemidland.com, where residents can pledge to do their part to keep Midland clean and trash-free.
If doing the right thing isn't enough incentive, litterbugs could face fines from between $10 to $2,000 for each offense.
