The First Live-Action Nightwing Costume Debuts on ‘Titans’
It’s hard to believe but it’s true. Despite the character’s storied history on and off the comic book page, there has never been a live-action version of Nightwing, Dick Grayson’s adult superhero alter ego. The very first one will debut soon on Titans, the live-action series from DC Comics’ streaming service, DC Universe, and the character’s costume made its debut at a press event this week.
This Nightwing suit was designed by Laura Jean Shannon and according to a press release it was built by her team at “Creative Character Engineering.” As you can see, it’s very faithful to the classic Nightwing suit that’s been worn off and on for the last several decades by the comics’ Dick Grayson. On Titans, Grayson is played by Brenton Thwaites.

Although it’s kind of off in its own little world (or universe) because it lives on an extremely niche streaming service, Titans — and the rest of the DC Universe roster, including Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing — have gotten strong reviews from fans for their faithful adaptations of classic comic book characters and stories. The Season 2 finale of Titans premieres on DC Universe on Friday, November 29.
