The Midland Development Corporation (MDC) is looking to help out a new upstart radar company out of California.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram,  the upstart radar company is looking to locate space junk floating around.

Space junk is currently monitored by the U.S. Air Force, but the Air Force is not too forthcoming about the junk they find because they do not want our enemies to know just how small the junk is that can be detected by them.

The city will lease a small portion of land on the T-Bar Ranch in Winkler County where there is little radio interference.

The $1.5 million facility will be able to detect objects in space as small as a golf ball and will be able to better inform the public on asteroids that might pose a threat to Earth.
