Lady Gaga Teases New Peaceful, Piano-Painted ‘Joanne’
Lady Gaga's taking her latest album's eponymous track in a brand new direction — "Joanne" is getting a piano-painted twist.
Gaga teased a teaser of a new scaled-back version of the song on Twitter Wednesday evening (January 4) that takes the production's already relaxed melodies and makes them even more peaceful. "And I'll still love you even if I can't," Gaga croons in the brief clip below across black and white frames that find her exploring train tracks and tree-lined expanses.
Naturally, fans went nuts.
"This is beautiful, I’m already in love and it’s only a little preview!" one fan wrote, while another noted "IT SOUNDS SO BEAUTIFUL. This is honestly your best era I’m so in love."
Joanne, Gaga's fifth studio album, was released in October 2016 and has so far spawned the singles "Perfect Illusion," "Million Reasons" and, of course, the original "Joanne," which was released to radio in December. She's been touring the album since August 2017 and it's been nominated for two Grammys: Best Pop Vocal Performance for "Million Reasons" and Best Pop Vocal Album.
"I’m humbled & grateful that my album “Joanne” was nominated & also my song “Million Reasons.” Thank u so much Monsters & Grammy Voters for believing in this music and me. I love u so much. This is a day to truly celebrate lots of hard work, perseverance & gratitude through music," Gaga tweeted after the nominations went public.
