Now is the time to get rid of all those large items that are cluttering up your storage room or garage as the City of Midland and Keep Midland Beautiful have their Bulky Items Drop-Off Day Saturday.

According to NewsWest 9, large items like mattresses, clothing, and furniture are usually piled up in alleyways all over Midland.

Keep Midland Beautiful and the City of Midland are trying to teach citizens what can and can't be put in the dumpster and alley behind your house and trying to clean up those bulky items also.

Big items like home and patio furniture, trampolines, and yard waste are some of the items that will be accepted, vehicle batteries, tires, pallets, and oil will not.

"We host events like this so we can continue to inspire and educate because without them it's hard to understand where litter prevention is and where it's important because we don't want our town be littered with bulky items everywhere. We want to see it clean and beautiful and waste free as much as possible," said Audrey Sizemore with Keep Midland Beautiful.

The Bulky Item Drop-Off will be at the parking lot at Washington Park in Midland from 9 am to 1 pm Saturday, May 19, 2018.
