According to NewsWest 9, three major records were broken in July:

• Hottest average maximum temperature of 101.4 degrees.
• Most days in a month of triple digit heat at 19.
• Warmest average minimum temperature of 75 degrees.

That officially makes it the hottest July on record in Midland.
