‘Jersey Shore’ Reunion Reportedly in the Works, But Not at MTV?
Cultural touchstones come and go, and it seems like forever since the Jersey Shore kids were exhausting our capacity for acronyms. Most of said Shore-hounds have grown up and had their own kids by now, and might make us feel even older with an upcoming reunion special.
According to the Asbury Park Press, at least some of the Jersey Shore cast have been spotted filming around Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park, including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola and Deena Nicole Cortese. Representatives for MTV and 495 Productions deny involvement with the project, which applied for permits through Bright Road Productions under the name “Roadtrip Reunion.”
Here’s at least some of the cast reunited in recent weeks:
Asbury Park Mayor John Moor said of the filming “They paid their fees and everything worked out fine,” though Asbury Park’s Langosta Lounge entertainment director Peter Mantas amusingly denied the group permission, saying “They called 10 days before they wanted to film and we said no freaking way, it’ll be bad publicity. Bring those meatheads to the Langosta Lounge? No way.”
Only the above four have been spotted for now, though JustJared claims fellow cast Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Pauly D, Vinnie Gaudagnino and Ronnie Ortiz have “been spotted filming along the Jersey shore since the start of the summer.”
MTV’s denial leaves it unclear when or where the reunion might air, so stay tuned for the latest. We’ll admit, we kind of miss those dorks.
