When it comes to comfort shows, we all have our preferences; sometimes they're quirky, sometimes they're cheesy and sometimes they can be from an entirely different decade!
As someone who grew up in the '90s, I can assure you that TV shows in the '90s were amazing; and there was such an eclectic mix of genres that it doesn't surprise me that for many of us, our comfort show comes directly from the '90s.
Thanks to streaming services, many of us can relived the raddest decade and re-watch some of our favorite '90s shows- and it turns out, every state has a favorite '90s show that they refuse to stop watching! But what show is Texas watching the most?
Researchers at BetMGM analyzed Google Trends data from over the last 12 months to determine “Every State's Favorite '90s TV Show” and found that the most popular 90's TV Show in Texas is Twin Peaks.
Twin Peaks was a mystery drama TV series created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, which originally aired from 1990 to 1991, with a revival in 2017. The show is set in the small town of Twin Peaks, Washington, and follows FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper, played by Kyle MacLachlan, as he investigates the murder of high school homecoming queen Laura Palmer.
What starts as a murder mystery quickly transforms into a surreal, psychological thriller filled with eerie supernatural elements, quirky humor, and deep, dark secrets lurking beneath the town’s seemingly perfect surface. The show blends detective drama with horror, dreamlike imagery, and soap opera-style storytelling, making it a cult favorite known for its strange and unforgettable atmosphere.
At the start of this year, David Lynch passed away which definitely surged the show to the top of everyone's watchlist.
