We are fresh into 2025 and everyone has their New Year resolution set and in full swing. Even though everyone goes into the New Year with the best intentions to follow through with their goals. Life can add pressure on losing those goals.

Where you live can be an influence on your goals. Whether you are trying to lose weight, quitting a bad habit, or saving some money.

LIVING IN MIDLAND

I live in Midland, TX and the city does not help with any of the goals I set. If I try to eat better, countless restaurants are always calling my name and that's not counting all the food trucks in every corner. Saving money is difficult in Midland not because there is so much to do but because the cost of living is so high here. A high cost of living equals high everything else. Let's say I wanted to cut down on drinking, this could go either way. A mixed drink costs no less than $12, so I want to buy fewer drinks. On the other hand, there isn't much else to do in the area so a drink sounds great most of the time.

BEST AND WORST CITIES IN TEXAS

WalletHub compared over 180 cities in the United States to determine where Americans are most likely to stick to their goals in 2025. They compared 57 metrics ranging from income growth to exercise opportunities.

Austin made the top 5 cities for keeping New Year's Resolutions, coming in at #4. Next in line for Texas was Plano taking the #12 spot.

Texas also has some of the worst cities to live in for New Year's goals. Brownsville came in at #165 on the list. While Corpus Christi took the 158th spot.
