On a recent flight, I noticed something different in the cabin of our Southwest Airlines plane that I had never noticed before in all my years of flying. You know how as you get situated in your seat and settle in to people watch, you notice everyone putting their carry-ons in the overhead bins. Then the flight attendant came along and slammed all the open bins shut, I was enjoying this scene until said flight attendant started going through and closing all the compartments.

How adorable is this? At first, I thought to myself, is that why this fussy kid has been crying nonstop for at least the last 5 minutes? Did she go ham on these bins with the crayons mom brought along for the flight and is now in a heap of trouble?

Then I realized there's no way she did that much damage in such a short amount of time. I vowed to look into it the next day (today) and see what this is all about.

All I was able to find is this article talking about Southwest Airlines celebrating the 30th Birthday of the Ronald McDonald House by

announcing the dedication of its newest signature aircraft, "The Spirit of Hope." Where the overhead bin doors inside the aircraft's cabin are uniquely embossed with brightly-colored crayon drawings of happy hearts, brilliant rainbows, oversized flowers, and smiling faces.

Well if that is not the neatest idea and the perfect way to celebrate such an event and I just happened to step inside the interior of one of the decorated airplanes. I truly enjoyed the artwork and hope to see many more with these drawings.
