Finally? Midland Hotel Location To Be Completed?
If you have driven by the H-E-B on Loop 250 in Midland since about 2016, you might have noticed the incomplete building next to the H-E-B. It has always been the subject of wonder. Many times people have asked, 'What the heck is that going to be?' The answer has always been somewhat of a mystery. Well, finally some answers may be coming.
• DOUBLETREE BY HILTON TO OPEN IN 2026
According to the Facebook page Maybe In Midland-Odessa...the hotel will be a Doubletree by Hilton. The Facebook sight states...
The hotel that just doesn’t ever seem to be completed next to H‑E‑B, is finally being completed. What was originally announced as a Holiday Inn, then a Delta Hotels by Marriott, will open as a new DoubleTree by Hilton in 2026.
There is also a potential the current DoubleTree in downtown Midland will be rebranded to another Hilton branded property pending proposed (and much needed) renovations.
• CONTRUCTION HAS RESUMED
If you have driven by recently, you can tell that construction on the site has resumed. The appearance of the building has definitely started to change as you see more areas being worked on. For many years it was abandoned and didn't even appear to resemble a hotel. If you look today, it's apparent that a hotel is coming soon.
• CONSTRUCTION SINCE 2016
In 2016, you could see the start of some construction. It has been slowly worked on through the years.
