Breaking News! Ken Starr died at the age of 76. Ken Star rose to fame by being the independent counsel whose investigation uncovered his affair with White House intern, Monica Lewinsky. That eventually led to the impeachment of President Clinton for lying under oath and obstructing justice during the Whitewater investigation. Clinton was acquitted by the Senate and was not removed from office. Bill Clinton at the time was the only second president to have ever been impeached.   If it wasn't for his investigation Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky might have never been exposed. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

In a statement, Starr's family said that he passed away due to complications related to surgery at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in Houston.

Kenneth Winston Starr was born July 21, 1946, in Vernon, Texas.  He married Alice Mendell in 1970. His father was a Church of Christ preacher and his mother made sure to read him bible stories every night, which is what led Starr to a church-affiliated college in Arkansas. That is where he developed an interest in government, so he transferred to George Washington University.  After that he pursued a Ph. D in political science, then ended up at the Duke University School of Law.    Ken Starr followed President Ronald Reagan to Washington where he served as a top Justice Department official before President Reagan appointed him to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in 1983. Ken Starr was to be appointed to the Supreme Court by President George H. Bush but was passed over.
