The next Polar Vortex is on its way.

Texas, you aren't done with winter yet. While temperatures are supposed to rebound this weekend  and into Monday, forecasters are preparing for a massive cold front to sweep through the Lone Star State beginning Tuesday.

The arctic front that forecasters are looking at right now could bring some of the coldest temperatures to Texas that we have seen all winter season.

High's on Monday will be in the upper 50's and mid 60's throughout Texas. On Tuesday is when the arctic front will begin pushing through the state.

How Cold Will It Get In Texas?

As of Friday, February 14th, we are expecting to see very cold temperatures starting Monday night into Tuesday.

Windchills in different parts of the state will be below zero at times as the arctic front pushing through the state.

Tuesday's high temperature in Amarillo is expected to be 19 degrees with a low of 0. Amarillo is expected to be at or below freezing until Friday when temperatures rise into the mid 40's.

In Lubbock, high temperatures on Tuesday will be around 29 degrees with a low around 7. Temperatures may finally be above freezing on Thursday with a high of around 34.


Will It Snow In Texas?

As of right now, forecasts aren't showing a great chance of snow or ice outside a chance of wintery mix for North Central Texas. That could change as we get closer to the winter event.

Be prepared for very cold weather and very cold windchills next week. Bring your pets inside or at least they have good shelter.
