Apple is about to grow its footprint in Texas and with it, expand its investment in the Lone Star State and in America as well.

As part of a $500 billion dollar investment in the United States, Apple announced on Monday that it plans to open a new factory for artificial intelligence servers in Texas. The tech giant will work with partners to launch a 250,000-square-foot server facility in Houston, Texas according to CNBC.

The new factory will produce servers for Apple Intelligence which is Apple's AI for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac computers. The new factory will begin operations in 2026 according to Apple and CNBC.

The move is part of a broader plan to invest heavily in the United States over the next four years. Apple has also announced it will hire 20,000 new employees across the United States. Overall, Apple has committed to making $500 billion dollars in investments in the United States.

Apple Joins Other Major Companies Investing In Texas

Apple is just the latest company announcing investments in Texas according to the Houston Chronicle. It was reported last month that Meta is looking Texas for expansion. Space X and Tesla have made huge expansions in Texas and Chevron last year announced plans to open a base in Houston.

It was also announced last month that Project Stargate, also dealing with AI, would be starting in Abilene, Texas. Project Stargate is a joint venture of three companies, Softbank, Open AI, and Oracle.

Many other companies have moved headquarters to Texas in recent months as well.
