Texas Tech University is the Largest Employer in Lubbock

Lubbock is an ever-growing city with new businesses constantly popping up, and more people searching for jobs in the Hub City all the time.

There are many prominent companies in Lubbock that are always hiring and have a broad range of employment opportunities. Some of the largest companies are based in medicine, as Lubbock is a major medical hub for West Texas.

Largest Employers

Covenant Health is the largest health care institution in Lubbock, but the University Medical Center is also a major employer.

Of course, the City of Lubbock is also a huge employer as they have a variety of teams from parks and recreation to code enforcement and everything in between, including the Lubbock Independent School District and Lubbock State School.

While these are all very large employers in Lubbock, one stands above the rest and is the heart of the Hub City.

Texas Tech University is the most prominent public employer in Lubbock.

TTU has approximately 21,000 employees with over 63,000 students. They have academic locations in Lubbock, Amarillo, Brownwood, DFW, El Paso, Forney, Fredricksburg, Jefferson, Junction, Marble Falls, Waco, San Jose (Costa Rica), and Seville (Spain).

They also have the TTU Health Sciences Center which has locations in Lubbock, Abiline, Amarillo, Dallas, Lubbock, Mansfield, Midland, and Odessa.
