Manos The Hands of Fate

Phantom of the Paradise

Race with the Devil

The Town that Dreaded Sundown

The most underrated Texas horror movie in my opinion. Filmed in Texarkana, Texas. You can stream with your subscription on Pluto TV, MGM+,YouTube TV, fuboTV, Sling TV, The Roku Channel, Philo, and Amazon Prime Video.

Piranha

After the success of Jaws, film studios started putting out movies about deadly creatures from the water. Piranha was filmed in San Marcos and you can stream with your subscription on Peacock, Cultpix, and Pluto TV.

Blood Simple

Filmed in Austin and was the first film by the now famous Coen Brothers. Available with your subscriptions on HBO Max, YouTube TV, Hulu, Sling TV, The Roku Channel, and Amazon Prime Video.

13 years after the original, the sequel made folks scared to get stuck in Texas once again. Filmed once again in Bastrop, but also in parts of Austin as well. You can stream with your subscription on Amazon Prime Video only.

Filmed in Houston, Texas. You can stream with your subscription on The Roku Channel, Plex, and Amazon Prime Video. 

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)

Leatherface comes back for a new generation and this time they filmed in Manor, Texas. Sadly no free streaming right now. You can rent for under $4 on YouTube, Google Play, Apple TV, Fandago, and Amazon Prime Video. 

The Hitcher

Filmed in Austin about a guy that picks his girlfriend up from The University of Texas, but also a very creepy hitchhiker. Available on YouTube TV, Hulu, The Roku Channel, and Amazon Prime Video with your subscription.

Death Proof

Teeth

Probably the creepiest movie on the list and was filmed in Spicewood, Texas. Streaming with your subscriptions on Tubi, Fandango, Amazon Prime, Plex, and YouTube TV. 

No Country For Old Men

The Coen Brothers got their film career started in Texas and maybe their best film right here. Filmed in parts of Marfa, Texas. Sadly no free streaming on this one. You can pay under $4 on Google Play, Apple TV, Fandango, and Amazon. 

Friday the 13th (2009)

Jason was from Texas? Well, the most recent Friday the 13th movie he was. Filmed at a camp in Bastrop, Texas. Camp Crystal Lake here is actually  Lake Bastrop North Shore Park. You can watch with a subscription on HBO Max, Hulu, Amazon, and The Roku Channel.
