Living in the state of Texas is such a pleasure with so much to do and see but another aspect to love is how easy it is to travel to other places. It helps that Texas has so many airports that make it easy to travel wherever you want to go. Once you arrive at one of the major airports in Texas it will only take you a few hours to get to just about anywhere in the country. But did you know that Texas has more airports than any other state in the country and it’s not even close.

When you think about the most airports in one state I will admit I wasn’t shocked to see that Texas came in at number one. We live in a gigantic state so when people need to travel long distances in a short amount of time jumping in a plane just makes the most sense. But I will say I was shocked to see that Texas has more than double the amount of airports compared to any other state in the country.  

How Many Total Airports Are in Texas? 

While a majority of these airports are not for commercial passengers it was amazing to find out that there are almost 1,500 airports in Texas the actual number is 1,494. There is a lot of air travel going on each day that we don’t even realize.
