If you're in Texas and have recently bought candies from Palmer Candy, there's some important news you need to know about. The company has issued a voluntary recall for over 20 different candy products because of possible contamination with salmonella, a type of bacteria that can make people sick.

The word is out thanks to an announcement from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

What happened? Palmer Candy was alerted by the company that supplies them with liquid coatings for their candies. This supplier discovered that one of their ingredients might have gotten contaminated with salmonella. To make sure everyone stays safe, Palmer Candy decided to initiate a recall. Below is a list of affected candies from the FDA.

What should you do if you have any of these candies at home? It's pretty simple: don’t eat them. You can either throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them and ask for a full refund.

Salmonella is not something to mess around with. It can cause a bunch of stomach problems like diarrhea, fever, and cramps. Sometimes, it can be more serious, especially for kids, elderly people, or those with a weaker immune system. If you have any of the recalled candies, it's better to be safe and get rid of them.
