I started practicing yoga recently at a small local studio with one of my close friends, and now I'm completely in love in with it.

Twice, sometimes three times, per week I've been going to class. Monday night has become my favorite class, because it's for beginners. Our instructor explains in details not only the positions, but their purpose.

The main flow sequence that we repeat most often is the 'Sun Salutation.'

This is a great example of what it looks like. My example would be a lot more awkward and not nearly as graceful. This particular sequence coupled with the deep breathing and focus, has not only begun to change my body, but it has helped to calm my mind as well.

I look forward to class, because I know that it's an hour of me time that is productive for my mind, body and soul.

If you're curious, but uncomfortable showing up to class alone like I was for years. Try following the sequence above shown by Natasha Kerry. I utilized videos off and on several years ago to experiment with it, and it was a great introduction.

The videos that I had watched and attempted to follow along were helpful when I started class, because I understood what the pose was supposed to look like when the instructor called for it. Give it a try, and let me know what you think.
