The Houston Astros are the World Champions in baseball and celebrated with a parade yesterday in downtown Houston.

According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the parade of the world-champion Houston Astros went off without a hitch. Still, fans of the team were not so excited to see Republican Senator Ted Cruz in the parade.

The parade had the usual array of floats featuring different members of the team, and also in the lineup was Ted Cruz waving to the crowd from the back of a truck.

A 33-year-old man was arrested by Houston police for throwing a beer can at the senator striking him in the chest and neck area, but Cruz did not require any medical attention.

The man is expected to face charges of assault but that was the only serious matter that happened on the parade route with Senator Ted Cruz.

The booing continued all through the parade as the senator waved to the crowd.

The official count of people that attended the parade is estimated to be over one million.

The Astros clinched their second World Series in six seasons Saturday as Yordan Alvarez hit a three-run home run beating the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in game 6 to win the World Series 4-2.

The Astros manager, 73-year-old Dusty Baker also gets his first World Series title after being an MLB manager for 25 seasons, the last three seasons in Houston.

Looks like after winning by a slim margin in 2018, the negative fan reaction may cause Ted Cruz to have a hard time making it to a third term as senator in 2024.
