If you are flying from Houston you might have a wait in store for you because of the government shutdown.

According to NewsWest 9, the government shutdown is effecting the TSA checkpoint at Bush Airport Terminal B since Sunday and continuing today.

The checkpoint was closed due to staffing issues caused by the partial government shutdown.

The TSA workers are among the 30,000 federal employees in Houston who are on furlough or working without pay.

If you are planning on going to Houston, you are asked to allow extra time when returning due to longer wait times.

You can also check the Houston Airports website to find out how long the wait is, or if your flight is delayed because of the shortage of employees at the TSA checkpoint.

It is day 23 of the partial government shutdown which is the longest shutdown in U.S. history.
