If you are wanting to get the COVID-19 vaccine in Midland or Odessa, here is what you need to know.

According to NewsWest 9, if you are in Midland, they are still focusing on Phases 1A and 1B at this time and you can register at the Midland Health website where they will contact you once the new shipment arrives.

In Odessa they have set up a pre-registration link for the Ratliff mass vaccination site.

The link only makes the process easier at the Ratliff mass vaccination site, it will not notify you when the vaccine is ready or guarantee you an appointment.

Odessa is also focusing on 1A and 1B but is planning to go to Phase 1C vaccinations soon.

With the winter weather last week postponing vaccines and delaying shipments, both cities are getting back into their routine of vaccinating people.

“What was suppose to arrive on Monday and Tuesday arrived on Saturday," said Val Sparks, Head of Infectious Disease Prevention for Midland Memorial Hospital. "Then we received another dose today and we are anticipating a third shipment this week.”

Odessa is getting twice the amount of vaccine doses this week to make up for what they could not get because of the winter storm last week.

Phase 1C vaccines will be distributed in both cities starting next week.

Phase 1C applies to people in transportation and logistics, food service, construction and finance, information technology, communications, energy, media, law, public safety and public health.
