The governor is allotting $171 million from the CARES Act to make sure Texans do not become homeless.

According to NewsWest 9, the funding will also allow the Texas Supreme Court, the Office of Court Administration, and the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to work with local governments and non-profit agencies.

This will prevent people from getting evicted and help them catch up on missed rent payments and help Texas residents struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
