Four school zones that have been found to have no pedestrian activity during school hours are scheduled to be removed.

According to NewsWest 9, City Council voted today on those zones which are mostly around General Tommy Franks Elementary (formerly Crockett Elementary), but there is one that effects Bowie Elementary.

The one near Bowie is on Golf Course Road just west of "A" Street, the other three zones around Franks Elementary include Main Street just north of Nobles, Cuthbert west of Lamesa Rd. and Golf Course just west of Lamesa Rd.

The changes were approved by MISD.

No new school zones will be added to any other roads in Midland.

You can check out the map of the effected areas.
