A former Midland mayor is throwing his hat into the ring for the 11th Congressional seat soon to be vacated by Mike Conaway.

According to NewsWest 9, J.D. Faircloth announced on October 11 that he will be running for the congressional seat to be vacated by Conaway next year.

He will be a strong advocate for second amendment rights, supporting the oil and gas community, and securing our borders.

J.D. Faircloth was the mayor of Midland from 1992-1994.
