A former Midland High School football star is throwing his hat into the ring for the District 11 congressional seat.

According to NewsWest 9, Brandon Batch grew up in Midland and was a running back for the MHS Bulldogs, now he plans to run for congress.

He has worked as a conservative policy advisor for Republicans in Washington before he moved back to Texas to begin a family business.

His plan is to secure the nation's borders and schools, defend the second amendment, and grow the West Texas economy.
