Expansion of I-20 From 4 lanes to 6 Lanes Approved

I-20 going through Midland/Odessa has been congested for the past few years but a new project will help out that congestion.

According to NewsWest 9, The Texas Transportation Commission approved the project to expand I-20 this past Tuesday, October 20. 2020.

The project will expand the highway from 4 lanes to 6 lanes from JBS Parkway in Odessa to east of Rankin Hwy in Midland.

The project will cost about $340 million but it won't begin until sometime between 2025 and 2030.
