Actress Evan Rachel Wood bucked gender stereotypes at on the 2017 Golden Globe Awards red carpet, stepping out in a gorgeously tailored Altuzarra tuxedo and white bow-tie blouse.

"This is my third nomination and I've been to the Golden Globes six times," she told E! News. "I've worn a dress every single time and I love dresses. I'm not trying to protest dresses, but I wanted to make sure young girls and women know that it's not a requirement."

Wood was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama for playing Dolores Abernathy in Westerworld. Previously, she was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama in 2004 for her starring role in Thirteen and Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television in 2012 for playing Veda Pierce in Mildred Pierce.

Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, the 74th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony takes place at the Beverly Hilton hotel on Sunday, January 8, broadcast live on NBC beginning at 8 PM EST. The 2017 Golden Globes nominees were announced on December 12, with actress Meryl Streep selected as the honoree of the year’s Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award.
