Ector County Commissioners approved opening drive-thru testing in Odessa within the next month.

According to NewsWest 9, The drive-thru is planned at the Ector County Coliseum and is planning on opening in the next few weeks.

The drive-thru testing has been in the planning stages for a while with county leaders working with other leaders in the county to get it going.

They say more testing will be beneficial for the community in the long run.

“We are wanting to partner with UTPB, Texas Tech, ECISD and the city to be able to try and open up the facility." Ector County Judge Debi Hays said, "We've been working on these plans for a couple of weeks and decided our first location would be the coliseum.”

Paramedics will be manning the location and taking viral sample swabs.
