I remember June 1982 very vividly... Heading off to the movies with my friends to see E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial starring Dee Wallace as Mom, Henry Thomas as Elliott, and Drew Barrymore as Gertie... We all watched with amazement as the story unfolded in front of us, and we all wished we could be as lucky as Elliott to have the little guy land in our backyard. I was 13 at the time and kept picturing myself riding like Elliott did with E.T. in the milk crate attached to my handlebars. I can't believe that was 40 years ago.

This brings us to today-and the awesome news that you can go out tonight and see this Steven Spielberg masterpiece that was made on a small budget of $10.5 Million back in the day--once again on the big screen for one night only. There are two shows in both Midland and Odessa Regal theaters. If you're going to Midland on Loop, 250-there are two showtimes to pick from at 4:30 pm today (Friday 8-12) or 7:30 pm... Odessa Regal is showing it twice, but at 4 pm and 7 pm.

My suggestion would be to hop on the Fandango app and get your tickets now--don't wait and walk up to the theater. I love this and wish they'd bring back more of our favorite childhood movies to the big screen for us to check out. It's fun to find them on demand or off DVD, but it's even more fun to see them on the big screen with a bucket of popcorn in your lap. See ya tonight at the movies!
